Clean Kitty Teeth

KPP made it through the teeth cleaning. She is still coming out of the anesthesia, which means she is hiding under my bed. But now her teeth are all clean. Apparently, she is missing a back tooth, either it fell out or was never there. Weird! I guess we will never know, because the vet has never been able to inspect her teeth. I was just happy that she didn't need any extractions, because man, extractions are PRICEY!!

And she weighs 9lbs, that means she has lost 1.6 lbs since last year. I think the continual stress of the d*mn dog made her lose it.

Poor little Kitty.

Kitty Cats

Kitty PotPie is at the vet right now. She is waiting for her shots, her teeth to get cleaned and a bath.

I was dreading this morning, because she has been less willing to do what I want her to lately. But luckily I found out (last night), that if I take her in my bathroom and shut the door, she reverts to the docile kitty I used to know and love. So I managed to clip all her front claws last night, in preparation for getting her in her kennel this morning.

Putting her in her kennel in the past was usually a 15-minute ordeal, ending with her sulking in the kennel corner and me covered in scratches. In anticipation of the scratches, I donned a sweatshirt, not the sweater I am currently wearing (it is easier for her to get her nails caught in sweaters). Then I picked her up, took her to the bathroom, where the kennel was waiting, door open and facing up, shut the bathroom door and put her in the kennel. None of the usual struggle, none of the usual hanging on to the opening and escaping, nothing but a small mew. SO WEIRD!! This is only like the second time of her life over 5lbs that this happened. Oh well, I guess I will enjoy it.

Also, her weight in her kennel was 12.8 lbs, and the kennel weighs either 2.5 or 5 lbs. I hope is the 2.5lbs, because I would feel bad if she lost that much weight over the year, because it would all be because of that d*mn dog!!

Oh, another thing. She was not allowed to eat last night or this morning, due to the anesthesia, so early this morning, I woke up to her biting my hand and meowing. And I couldn't figure out why she was so mad at me, then this morning when I looked at the empty spot her food is usually at, it dawned on me, she was hungry. Sorry Kitty! It is for the best! You will understand when you feel how clean your teeth are!

Stairs

Monday night, Nova and I went to visit the Wilde Manor. It was a grand time, until the end of a tour of the house (not for me, Belle stopped by). During the tour, we visited the upstairs, Nova whined when I first went up, and then decided to follow. WELL! when we were going back down, Nova refused to follow.

Here she is at the top of the stairs, this was as I was trying to call her down.
The next steps were: bribing with treat, pulling her collar and bribing with a toy. Well, she wouldn't eat the treat (which is weird for her) and when I pulled her by the collar, she slipped out of it and then would not come within 2 feet of the stairs.

Here she is sitting waiting to see what I would do next.
The final step was to carry her down, luckily Geoff said he would do it, because I was dreading picking her up, SHE IS GIGANTIC!!! Plus, their stairs are narrow and steep and I am clumsy, so I was worried I would fall. So a BIG thanks to Geoff.

Now I have to get her used to stairs...Anyone volunteering their stairs for practice???

Bike-A-Thon

Oh and I forgot to mention, I have now updated the leader board.

Charlie rode 5 days in a row, two of those days I was in Las Vegas, so he now has the lead. DANG!!

As of yesterday, the count is Jenni-9, Charlie-11, Tamaran-1 (It is too cold to ride in with a baby!)

My Office

Well, so far it has not turned out to be an April's Fool joke, so I guess I get to stay.

Here are some of pictures of my fancy new digs. I have a ton (6) of windows, which is nice, since I haven't ever been by a window at any of my jobs.
This picture shows my walls and table. Steve was in here a long time and must have had the same pictures on the wall the whole time. My goal is to find things that fit the squares.
**The item above the door is a failed "Beaver Protection Device". It is some plastic tubing that was placed around a tree to protect it from the beaver and the beavers chewed right through it and took the tree anyways. Steve left that for me, and I find it amusing, so it can stay.**
I, also, get two bookcases. Currently, I only occupy 1.5 shelves, which is all I need right now. The other shelves contain the Water Resources Library and random books Steve had. One day, when I get ambitious, I will go through everything...
But overall I really enjoy being in here. I have yet to turn on my overhead lights! My only issue is that I see everyone that walks across the bridge (seen in the first picture). I think eventually I will stop noticing, but for now, I get distracted by everyone.

And even though I like my office, I still miss the other side, I already feel out of the loop.
