These times, they're a changin'

My department is losing two AWESOME people tomorrow, one is retiring and the other is following her man to Virginia (he is a JAG officer, like on the TV).

So there has been some shuffling.... I am now in the water resources section of my division. I got a new boss (excited about it, but will miss working for Scott, as he has been my boss since I started at the County and he is a great boss). I also get new job responsibilities, which I am stoked about. (I will be doing more water quality projects, mitigation projects, or so I am guessing.) But the biggest change of all, will be I am moving from my cubical that I LOVE! to an OFFICE on the other side (we have two sides to our division, where I am now and across the bridge)

It is exciting, but as with all change I am a little apprehensive, but I am sure it will be great.
Oh and I found this all out today (not about the people leaving, but the reshuffling) and all the changes are effective April 1st. Hopefully it is not an April's Fool joke....

Wish me luck!!!

Cat Houses and Crazy Parades

Last week, I watched Hazel, while Geoff and Meadow worked on there house. After they were done working for the day, I had them over for dinner. The entertainment for the night was Hazel (of course).

She loves KPP's house and pulls it out every time she comes over. The following is usually what happens.

She gets in, pokes her face in the holes and occasionally does a couple of rolls while in it. Then she goes to get out and Nova is waiting with lots of slobber.
She is less than amused by being licked in the face by a dog (okay she giggles a lot)
oooh and I was fancy and did a sequence shot.
I was very proud of Nova, she was so well behaved. Sure, she licked Hazel's face multiple times, but it is at her eye level. But she didn't jump on Hazel and allowed Hazel to do pretty much whatever to her, she got hugged, draped in blankets, laid on, and yet, she did nothing. So proud of my hyper little pup! (and by little, I mean my 76.5lb pup, she got weighed on the 7th)

On Saturday the 14th, SLC held the annual St. Patrick's Day parade. It is my favorite parade of the year, mainly because it is rowdy and they let anyone walk in it, much like the Pride Parade, but more green.

Here is a shot of part of the group I went with, it was the girls' and their families.
And Mary and Liam were walking in it with Mary's school. It was great to see her and hopefully they lasted, because Liam seemed EXHAUSTED by the time they passed us and we were at the beginning.....But in his defense, they were at the end of the parade, so they had probably been waiting in the staging area forever!

Oh and I didn't update my leader board this week. I think it will become a monthly deal. That way it is less work/remembering for me. BUT currently the numbers are Jenni-7, Charlie-5, Tamaran-1. YAHOO! Still winning!!

Spider vs. Fly

On Sunday, I noticed what I initially thought was two spiders, um, hugging, ya, hugging. So of course, I had to look closer. And I found that it was really a spider EATING A FLY!! SO FREAKING AWESOME!! Way better than spiders hugging!

I took 11 pictures, but only 2 turned out. They were the two that I realized I had a macro function on my camera and that it was focusing on the spider not outside.
I also wish I could have pulled the blinds up for a better shot, but I figured it would scare the spider away.
AWESOME!

February IS over!

Well, it is the end of the first week of March. I believe it is coming in like a lion, so does that mean it will leave like a lamb? Probably the weather will do whatever it wants to do.

Any who. I have updated the Bike-A-Thon Leader Board. I am up to 5 rides. WOO HOO! I am already at more rides that I had for March and April combined last year (that was a total of 1 ride, for those who care).

And I decided to take the Body Conditioning/Weight Training class. I think it will kick my 'a' but it will be good for me right?
