Why must the Salt Lake City Library system be so efficient? Granted, I usually love their efficiency and that they will send a book to the branch closest to my house, but today I curse them!
I had a book on hold and it was at the Sprague Branch for a week and I remembered last night at 11 that it was the last day to pick up my book. Hence, I did not get my book and this morning it was released to the next hold.
Really, I guess I should curse myself for being so forgetful, but it is never fun to blame yourself!
Alas, I will take consolation in the fact that I am now 8 of 8 holds on 8 copies of the book. Which means this time next month I should be reading "The Braindead Megaphone" by George Saunders. And for now I will finish the crap-tastic "Austenland" by Shannon Hale.
post-script. The dog and cat are well. They are still chasing each other around the house and there is still hissing, growling, barking and swiping, but overall they are well...

Update
Well, I haven't posted in a while. So here is a mini update. Nova is doing well, her tummy is FINALLY healed from being spayed, which means the cone came off. And she is back to being herself.
However, while she was coned, I had to leave her inside. On her last day inside, I came home to this. The crap on the table is mine, but all the ziplock bags and tp is her doing.
But do notice the roll is intact.
She now thinks it is a GRAND game and plays it when ever the bathroom door is open and she is feeling bored. (the door gets shut a lot now)
Here are some cute pictures of her with her cone on. She got a lot of rawhide while coned, because it was the only thing that would keep her calm for longer than 2 minutes.
She just looks so sassy in this picture.
KPP has still not adjusted to the dog, though she does seem to bait Nova so maybe in her own way she is playing. Last week, however, she felt like the fridge was not safe enough so she got as high as she could.
She is a silly kitty.
Basically, my animals are crazy. But I will keep them because they are cute and cuddly (except when Nova thinks I am a chew toy)

Election Day!
I love Election Day! It is so exciting! It makes me wish I hadn't voted 3 weeks ago, so I could be at my local polling place watching people in line.
Now, I am definitely aligned with one party over the other, but I always encourage everyone to vote, even if they don't believe in the same things as me. Because if you don't vote, you can't complain!
Dang. I love being able to vote!! (I try to vote in EVERY election, even stupid races like school board!)
Now only if we could get rid of the electoral college....
