Swimming

The Liberty Park pool closed to the public on Monday, which meant they stopped chlorinating and today it was open for the dogs.

I thought Nova would enjoy swimming in a pool, instead of the gross pond across the street and indeed she did.

I took her frisbee, and I am glad I did, because there were so many tennis balls floating around that she would have had a hard time. But with the frisbee she always knew which toy was her toy.She was a natural in the water and had no problem jumping into the deep end (after getting used to the pool). I wish I would have taken a picture of her jumping into the pool, because it was really funny.

There were two other chessies at the pool (seen below on the left). They were a lot curlier than Nova, but they had to same jump into the pool.

After the first hour, she stopped shaking after every time and only shook every two or three times.
She was a very happy dog. I am going to have to take her swimming more next summer.
After two hours of swimming, she was still ready to play, but about an hour after we got home she finally tuckered out and we napped for hours. It was a great Saturday.

NEW KITCHEN COLOR!!

Before I get to my fancy new paint color....

The other day when I was putting away my pans, I neglected to close my oven drawer in between pans.
This is what happened. Seriously, why must she go in EVERY where!
And now to the paint, well almost. Here is a reminder of my kitchen before (note, I have been in my house a year this weekend!!)
Beige, beige, beige.

AND NOW!!!! Drum roll........
Green, green, green!!
So it is a yellowy green, but it is not as yellow as it looks in these pictures.
I am really liking it, which is good, because I was SUPER nervous when I got the first paint chip I picked mixed into paint.
GREEN!
The whole process took me about 7 hours. 5.5 hours of that was prep. Washing walls, taping, cutting in and cleaning up. I did have a couple of oops spots, but hey, I don't care! It was my first time doing the whole painting process myself and I only messed up on spots that will get paint in the near future.

Now maybe I will get the next room painted before the second year in my house is over...maybe not.
